This nanny got the WHOLE week of Thanksgiving off while the babies are in North Carolina!
Monday morning I slept in until.......830!!!! That is a record for me! I was really excited to relax around the house but before I knew it, I was running errands and not allowing myself to sit down for a second. I think my body is just so used to moving and running after babies that I forgot how to just be lazy!
Tuesday was one of those days that I was glad to have off because I had TWO tests. It is not fun to see all of your friends going home for Thanksgiving while you are stuck at home studying and feeling super stressed. I ended up doing great on my Geography test and got a solid B+ on my math test & an A for Geography. Definitley a happy ending to a stressful day.
On Wednesday morning I woke up early to head home to Houston. I ventured downtown to pick up my mom for lunch then did a little Christmas shopping. Wait, I mean a LOT of Christmas shopping. I am going to try my best to aviod the madness of "Black Friday" this year. My brother, Adam came over with pizza after my mom and I finished some early baking and we all had dinner together. No one was wanting to cook anything tonight. I did manage to completley mess up a recipe which happened to be my favorite Chocolate Mousse Pie. Instead, I was forced to make something even more complicated...Brownies. My mom made a yummy Pumpkin Mousse Cheesecake. She is an amazing cook and I have a lot to learn from her.
Thanksgiving morning was an early one. My mom and I had an 8am 10K race to be at by the Galleria. Boy was it COLD outside! I finished the race in 59:13 and was ready to get home to eat lots of good food! Thanksgiving dinner was amazing! Sweet potatoes and stuffing are my favorite. My brother & I watched the A&M/TU game together which was surprisingly a great game for the Aggies!
Friday & Saturday were spent doing a little more Christmas shopping and catching up with old friends in town. I met up with my good friend, Jensen, at FreshBerry for some frozen yogurt. I got vanilla with fruity pebbles and chocolate chips. MMM. My sister, mom, and I also went to the movies and saw Old Dogs which got horrible reviews but I thought it was a great family movie!
Next long break=CHRISTMAS! I love Christmas because my family gets to see each other more than for a few hours, I make my famous hot cocoa, watching classic christmas movies like A Christmas Story and The Santa Claus, candlelight church service on Christmas Eve, warm & comfy clothes, apple cider, giving presents, and ice skating. Hope I can make it through finals!
I returned back to work on Monday to some crazy babies that already seemed to grow up in just a week! They are talking even more these days! I love love all of their new winter clothes too! More posts to come soon!
